Search Decisions
The Case Law Hub search feature provides comprehensive access to court decisions from across the European Union. Our search index covers decisions from Romania, Germany, the Netherlands, France, the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU), and the EUR-Lex repository, giving you a single unified entry point for European legal research. Whether you are a legal professional, academic researcher, or law student, the search tool is designed to help you find relevant case law quickly and efficiently. You can search using several different methods depending on what information you have available. If you know the exact ECLI identifier of a decision, entering it directly will take you straight to that decision's detail page. The European Case Law Identifier (ECLI) is a standardized identifier format used across the EU — it follows the pattern ECLI:COUNTRY:COURT:YEAR:NUMBER and provides a permanent, unique reference for every court decision. For broader searches, you can use keywords related to the legal issues, parties, or subject matter of the cases you are looking for. The search also supports case numbers and court names, making it flexible enough to accommodate whatever information you have at hand. To get the most out of your searches, try using specific legal terms rather than general ones. European court decisions often contain specialized legal vocabulary, and using precise terminology will yield more relevant results. If you are searching across multiple jurisdictions, consider trying your search terms in different languages — a decision from a French court may use different terminology than a similar decision from a German court, even when addressing the same legal question. You can also narrow your results by applying filters for country, court, category, or date range to focus on the most relevant decisions for your research needs. When you perform a search, results are displayed as decision cards. Each card shows the decision title, the court that issued it, the decision date, and a brief summary of the case. This format allows you to quickly scan through results and identify which decisions are most relevant before clicking through to the full detail page. From the detail page, you can access the complete decision text, view related legal provisions, and explore additional metadata including the language of the decision, the source database, and links to related cases. The search feature is designed to support both quick lookups and in-depth research. Whether you are checking a single citation or conducting a comprehensive review of case law across multiple EU member states, the search tool provides the flexibility and coverage you need for effective European legal research.
